Three Teens Injured After ATVs Collide
Florida Today-September 24, 2012-According to the article three teenagers were flown to Orlando hospitals after a pari of ATVs collided Saturday on Hammock Road in Mims, Brevard County, Florida. A 17-year-old driver of the lead RV was a boy from Mims. Florida Highway Patrol report he slowed down and the 17-year-old driver behind him lost control and she crashed into the third ATV, which was driven by a 14-year-old boy. There was a 12-year-old boy riding as a passengers on the second ATV. He was flown to Arnold Palmer Hospital in critical condition. The 17-year-old girl was flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she was hospitalized in serious condition. The 14-year-old boy suffered minor injuries and was also flown to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The article goes onto say that all three drivers were cited for illegally driving on a public road. Both injured drivers were cited for careless driving, and the 14-year-old boy was ticketed for failure to wear a helmet.
