Florida Today-August 23, 2012-According to the article a 29-year-old Cocoa, Brevard County, Florida man faces charges after police said he struck a pedestrian with his truck in an accident Wednesday and then fled the scene. The man was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving a death after Cocoa police spotted hi s1997 Chevy truck with what appeared to be a blooded windshield and front-end damage traveling south on Clearlake Road. The man later confessed to police that he fled because he panicked. The article goes onto say that the man was trying to reach for something on the floor of his truck when he struck the pedestrian. The fatal collision occurred at about 7:00 a.m. Wednesday. The pedestrian was believed to be in his mid 30s and was walking east alongside State Road 524 near Westminister Drive in Cocoa, Brevard County, Florida. The pedestrian was wearing a blue T-shirt, black basketball shorts with white accents, tennis shoes and pink and white socks. The victim was also carrying a key chain tag for Planet Fitness.
