Motorcycle Recall
Motorcycle Consumer News-August 2012-Suzuki is recalling certain modeal year 2012 GSX-R1000 motorcycles. Due to loose bolts, the side stand interlock switch may fail. Consequences are on the Gsx-R1000 models, failure of the switch will terminate the ignition circuit. As a result, the engine will stop running, increasing the risk of a crash. Suzuki dealers will replace the side stand interlock switch bolts, free of charge. The safety recall began on June 7, 2012- Owners may contact Suzuki at 714-996-7040. Ducati is recalling certain model year 2012 1199 Panigale for an incorrect screw was used to attach the swingarm to the rear suspension linkage. If the linkage detaches from the swingarm, catastrophic suspension collapse would occur and adversely affect the rider's ability to safely handle the motorcycle, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect and replace, as necessary, the incorrect screw. Owners not receiving this remedy can contact Ducati at either 800/231-6696 or www.ducati.com. NHTSA Recall No.: 12V27000
