|Re: Judge Jim Earp|
|This letter is to request that you join me in supporting Judge Jim Earp in his reelection as a Circuit Court Judge. The election takes place on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. As you know, Judge Earp has been on the bench for more than five years. He and his wife, Cindy have made Brevard County their home for nearly twenty-five years. Both Judge Earp and Cindy have been extremely active in our community. Judge Earp is a proud graduate of Melbourne High School!|
Judge Earp's thirty-five years of law practice have given him the background necessary for his position on the Circuit Court bench. A graduate of University of South Florida in 1974 and the University of Florida College of Law in 1976, Judge Earp's practice before going on the bench includes serving as an assistant public defender, a prosecutor, and a combined term of almost fifteen years in private civil practice. It is an understatement to say that Judge Earp's time as a lawyer, in both the public and private realms, gave him experience in a variety of cases coming before any Circuit Court judge.
As a judge, Judge Earp has excelled. He has an extraordinary work ethic, often being in his office by 7:30 a.m., and starting hearings at by 8:00 a.m. Judge Earp is known for prompt, accurate decision-making. He many times simply drafts and executes his own judgments. Judge Earp runs a docket that is efficient, and helps attorneys and litigants have a schedule they can count on. Judge Earp is even-tempered, knows the rules, and he knows the law. Quite frankly, Judge Earp is a pleasure to practice before.
