A Satellite Beach Man Critically Injured After Crane Splits Power Line
Florida Today-March 27, 2012-According to the article a 60-year-old man was shocked when a boom truck he was standing on broke a power line in Satellite Beach, Brevard County, Florida. The man was critically injured and taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. The man remains in serious condition. The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Jamaica Blvd. and Kingston Road. The article goes onto say the lifted cran had just set a load of material on a roof when it swung around 180 degrees into power lines. The injured man, who was standing on the back of the truck, then slid to the ground where other workers care for him as 911 was called. The approximate 7,500-volt line also fell onto a cargo van driving down Jamaica Road. The driver of the van got out without any injury.
