Florida Today-January 11, 2012-Associated Press-According to the article a man who spent 27 years in prison in connection with a murder he was cleared of and the brain-damaged and paralyzed victim of a crash with a speeding sheriffs deputy that was late for work may receive millions in compensation. At the time of the crash the man was 18-years-old in 1998. The man was announced a $10.75 million settlement with the Broward County Sheriffs Offices insurer. The accused man was released in 2008 after DNA testing cleared him from the charges. The accused will receive $1.35 million from the settlement.
