Merritt Island Man Killed in Car Crash
Florida Today-June 1, 2011-According to the article a 30-year-old Merritt Island man was killed in a car crash that occurred early Tuesday morning. The crashed occurred on Interstate 95 near the exit ramp to State Road 520 around 2:00 a.m. Florida Highway Patrol say the driver lost control of the car hitting a steel support for a roadside sign. The article goes onto say the vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, Florida when the driver tried to make an abrupt turn onto the exit ramp to State Road 520. The vehicle then rolled through the safety zone and spun clockwise hitting the steel support sign and flipping over and throwing the driver from the car. The passenger of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Cocoa woman survived and was able to flag down help. She was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. Unfortunately, the driver was not wearing his seat belt.
