A Woman Dies in Six Car Pileup
Florida Today-May 18, 2011-Andrew Knapp-According to the article, a 53-year-old woman died of injuries due to a six-car pileup accident that occurred last month. At the time of the accident rescuers said that she had injuries but they were not life threatening. Unfortunately, she died last week due to those accident related injuries. The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 192 in West Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida, in which an Indialantic man who was impaired and texting while driving slammed into of a PT Cruiser that was stopped at a red light. The driver was traveling 45 mph when he hit the Chrysler causing a domino effect and pushing the car 20 feet into four other cars. The article goes onto say that Florida State Troopers believed he had been taking prescription drugs while text messaging. According to the article the driver was arrested for driving under the influence, DUI with injury or damage, and careless driving.
