Apparently Allied has done this with other individuals. After three years of making such calls Allied Interstate has agreed to pay 1.75 million dollars to settle charges by the Federal Trade Commission that it violated federal law in trying to collect debts from the wrong people and routinely ignoring their protest without checking the accuracy of their claims.
