Kawasaki Motorcycle Recall
Kawasaki is recalling 2009 EX650C9F, 2010 EX650CAF Ninja 650 motorcycles. These motorcycles are being recalled because the right rear portion of the lower cowling can interface with the operators foot while in the process of applying the rear brake. This could diminish the operators control over brake force application or distract the operator, creating the potential for a crash resulting in injury or death.
Kawasaki dealers will install an updated foot rest guard and faring bracket. This service will be performed free of charge. The safety recall began on July 19, 2010. Owners of affected motorcycles may contact Kawasaki consumer services department at 866-802-9381. NHTSA Campaign ID#: 10V32300.
