U.S. Supreme Court Ruling May Affect Local Cases By SEO Admin on June 03, 2010

Florida Today-May 19, 2010-Kaustuv Basu-According to this article the cases of three Brevard residents who were sentenced to life in prison as teenagers for crimes other than murder might have their sentences reviewed in light of a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling. The U.S. Supreme Court, in a split (5-4) decision ruled that juveniles serving life sentences must at least be considered for release. Apparently this ruling affects more than one hundred people across eight states including more than 70 people in Florida. According to the Brevard County attorneys office, three of these cases may be local.
