Crash Break Hydrant Causing Street to Flood
Florida Today-August 17, 2012-According to the article a traffic accident left a fire hydrant spewing water for nearly an hour along San Filippo Drive and Valencia Street in Palm Bay, Brevard County, Florida. The accident occurred on Thursday at about 9:52 a.m. after a green pick up veered off the roadway and slammed into the hydrant. There were no injuries reported from the vehicle accident. Although, the southbound lane of San Filippo was shut down for an hour while Palm Bay utility crews removed the truck and worked to shut off the water.

Falling Slab of Granite Injuries Man
Florida Today-August 17, 2012-According to the article a 63-year-old worker was seriously injured when a 1,000 pound slab of granite fell on top of him. The incident happened about 8:15 in the morning Thursday at Absolute Granite & Stone in the 300 block of Cox Road in Cocoa, Brevard County, Florida. According to witnesses the man was handling a delivery of granite when a section fell apart, striking the man. Paramedics arrived at the scene and applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding from his leg injury. The man was flown to Health First Holmes Regional Medica Center in Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida in critical condition.
