Murder Trial Goes into Third Week
Florida Today-October 22, 2010-Kaustuv Basu-According to this article the trial of Darryl Kenney, a Merritt Island man accused of killing his father, will extend into its third week. Apparently, the prosecution has completed its case against the 24-year-old accused the defense has begun its case. Mr. Kenney is charged with first degree pre meditated murder among other charges in the killing of Gary Kenney at his home on Merritt Island in June of 2008. The defense has taken the position that the killing occurred in a "heat of passion" moment as Mr. Kenney felt the need to protect his mother and sister because of his belief that his father was abusing them.
