www.motorcycle.com742009 – Harley-Davidson motorcycle submitted a recall notice for the 2008 FXSTSSE2 Screamin’ Eagle Soft Tail Springer, 2009 FXSTSSE3 CVO Soft Tail Springer and 2008-2009 FLSTSB Soft Tail Cross Bones motorcycles. According to the article the acorn stud at the brake reaction leak so the affected motorcycles may fall out during use. Should this occur, the front brake and fender assembly would no longer be properly attached to the motorcycle. The article points out that Harley-Davidson discovered this problem after receiving a report of a crash on the November 21, 2008, in which a motorcycle rider received minor injuries. While investigating that accident, Harley-Davidson received notice of another reported crash, this one with no injuries, caused by the same problem. Harley-Davidson dealers will replace the acorn stud on affected motorcycles with a new stud and a retaining clip. This recall affects potentially as many as 11,005 motorcycles.
