The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Shenandoah Road in Palm Bay, Brevard County, Florida. According to the article the pedestrian was trying to cross the road from the median when he was struck the passing pickup trucks’ mirror. The mirror then broke off and came through the windshield of the driver’s truck and hit the driver in the head. The driver of the pickup truck was hospitalized with serious injuries. Florida Today-June 10, 2011-According to the article a man was struck by a car Thursday night on South Washington Avenue in Titusville, Brevard County, Florida. According to police the man had been out with friends drinking at a nearby Riverside Inn. The man was hit by a Mercury sedan heading northbound on U.S. 1. According to the article there are no signs that the driver was speeding or impaired at the time of the incident. Lt. Todd Hutchinson of the Titusville Police Department say, “it appears the victim struck had walked right into the path of the northbound car.” The man suffered serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to a trauma center.

Florida Today-June 9, 2011-According to the article police are still investigating the hit-and-run accident that occurred in Brackenwood subdivision in Rockledge, Brevard County, Florida Tuesday night. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. when an unidentified driver hit a 59-year-old that was walking near Barnes Blvd. and Brantley Circle in Rockledge, Brevard County, Florida. The man was walking west on Barnes Blvd. when he was struck from behind. Florida Today-June 1, 2011-According to the article a 30-year-old Merritt Island man was killed in a car crash that occurred early Tuesday morning. The crashed occurred on Interstate 95 near the exit ramp to State Road 520 around 2:00 a.m. Florida Highway Patrol say the driver lost control of the car hitting a steel support for a roadside sign. The article goes onto say the vehicle was traveling northbound on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, Florida when the driver tried to make an abrupt turn onto the exit ramp to State Road 520. The vehicle then rolled through the safety zone and spun clockwise hitting the steel support sign and flipping over and throwing the driver from the car. The passenger of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Cocoa woman survived and was able to flag down help. She was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. Unfortunately, the driver was not wearing his seat belt.

Florida Today-June 3, 2011-According to the article a 54-year-old Mims man was killed in a motorcycle accident that occurred early Thursday morning in Titusville, Brevard County, Florida after a car turned into his path and struck the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was riding his Yamaha motorcycle southbound on South Street in Titusville, Brevard County, Florida when a Toyota sedan collided with the motorcyclist. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the article the driver of the car was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way. Roads were closed for two hours due to investigation and processing the scene. This was the third traffic fatality in Titusville, Brevard County, Florida this year.

Florida Today-June 3, 2011-Andrew Knapp-According to the article, a “reckless driver” crashed on the Beachline Thursday afternoon after reaching for a cigarette which lead to his passenger fatally injured lying on the roadside. The vehicle was speeding east on the Beachline in Brevard County, Florida when the pick-up veered onto a grassy median just east of Banana River Drive in Merritt Island, Brevard County, Florida then rotated clockwise flipping the vehicle two-and-a-half times. The article goes onto say a 9-1-1 call was reported about an erratic driver. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office was only about two miles away from the pick-up when the driver lost control and crashed. This was 31st fatal crash in Brevard County this year. According to court records the driver had been ticketed in the past for speeding at least nine times in Brevard County, Florida and has been issued careless driving citations.

Gallop-According to the article a 28-year-old construction worker was pulled from a trench that collapsed today at a work site near Satellite High School in Satellite Beach, Brevard County, Florida. The cave-in was reported at 11:00 a.m this morning where the man was standing along the edge of a hole that was under excavation. The article goes onto say that the Satellite Beach Fire Department crew lifted the man out of the trench just 20 minutes later. The man was unconscious and was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida. Investigation is still ongoing.
