Florida Today-March 31, 2010-A Palm Bay woman was injured after a car crash on Courtney Parkway, just north of Hall Road on Merritt Island in Brevard County, Florida. The crash was investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol and it is reported that the crash occurred when a southbound Toyota Yaris crossed the grass median and entered the northbound lanes of Courtney Parkway where it collided with a Ford F-150 truck driven by a Merritt Island resident. One crash victim suffered critical injuries while another was in serious condition. Both were taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.

Florida Today-March 31, 2010-According to this article a 51-year-old woman claims to have robbed a Central Florida Bank because it was on her “bucket list.” The robbery suspect, Patricia D. Edwards, told WOFL-Channel 35 that she acted on impulse when she robbed a Bank of America branch earlier in March. Apparently law enforcement officer’s believe the suspect robbed two other banks, one near Sanford and another in DeLand. According to the suspect “everyone should have a list of things they want to do before they expire.” The article points out that the suspect facing two counts of robbery and being held in a Volusia County jail on a $20,000 bond.

Florida Today-March 31, 2010-A Melbourne resident was air lifted to an Orlando hospital after he suffered injuries in a car fire that occurred in Melbourne, Florida. This according to Brevard County Fire-Rescue personnel. Apparently the Brevard County man was working on a car at Grand Prix Motors when he suffered the burn injury according the Brevard County Sheriff’s office.

AARP Bulletin-April 2010 Volume 51 #3-Florida medical schools graduated 436 doctors in 2008. By comparison California medical schools graduated 1,060 doctors, South Dakota medical schools graduated 53 doctors and Alaska medical schools graduated zero doctors for the same year.

Husquvarna Motorcycles North America (Part of the BMW group of companies) is claiming a 9% increase in sales in 2009 as compared to 2008. A press release recently issued Husquvarna sited a 98% sales increase in the final two months of 2009, which they largely credit to recent racing successes. Motorcycle Consumer News-April 2010-Kawasaki is recalling model year 2009 Super Sherpa KL250G9F motorcycles. On eligibly bikes, blockage of an oil passage in the engine might restrict oil flow to the cylinder head. This defect could result in the engine losing power and eventually stopping, which could create the risk of a crash while operating the vehicle resulting in injury or death to the rider or passenger.
